  • Cancercare was founded in 1989 by Dr Leon Gouws under the name GVI Oncology, with its first unit opening in the northern suburbs of Cape Town.Over the years Cancercare has grown into its current network of nine centres across the Western and Eastern Cape. The company has come a long way since its establishment and today provides work for 160 staff and 25 specialist oncologists.
